Half Pipes are large wooden skate ramps typically skated on by transition or vert skaters. In terms of height, Half Pipes are typically in the 10-14 foot range. Half Pipes are few and far in between relative to how many skateparks there are. San Diego County features a particularly high concentration of Half Pipes and is home to many prominent vert skaters like Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek and Bob Burnquist.
